Story

I am a Photographer with Polish origins. I settled in the UK over in 2015 and it changed my life completely. I am still looking forward to the amazing journey continuing.

My interest in photography was first sparked when I was about 14 when my parents gave me a point and shoot Panasonic Lumix camera – for a couple of years it was my favourite camera. 

Even then I had a good eye for colours, textures and people and a real passion for photography.  

Sadly I lost my interest in photography due to lack of self-belief that I could create something original. 

For a while my focus and energy changed to freshwater aquatic fauna and flora where I could create whole new ecosystems for my fish, shrimps, snails and plants. It was beautiful and taught me about balance in life – if there is no balance you quickly get tired and sick both physically and mentally.

Eventually I returned to photography  After 3 years in UK, without practicing a hobby or passion (I couldn’t have any animals) and with problems at work, I fell into depression that stripped me of any interest in anything nice in life. 

Like an empty shell I was existing with no particular purpose. But then my partner bought a camera and started going out and shooting everything around. My creative mind started working a bit and I was telling him how to shoot, which angles to get the best light and how to compose the picture. It reignited my passion for photography. 

After some time he handed his camera to me –  he saw that I practically stole the hobby from him (sorry mate ;*) – more importantly he noticed that my mental health was slowly recovering  thanks to photography. 

Within a couple of months, I was already selling images and people started telling me that I should do it professionally as I have a good eye for it.

So I gave it a go! 

I created  Moravian  – the name comes from my last name translated directly, I have always had problems with my surname pronouciation in UK so it makes everything easier. Moravian is also a region in Czech to which I have a big sentiment from childhood times. I have created a logo, business cards and all social media background and started to shoot for free to build a portfolio, to learn new things.

And here we are now! I’m starting a real business –  I run a  a facebook photographers collaborations group, I do challenges, I’m recovering mentally and I photograph for individual commissions and for businesses! It’s so amazing that it’s hard to believe!
